We require a motivated individual to join the GIS Team in a growing renewable energy development company. The role would be an ideal introduction for a recent GIS graduate with an interest in the renewable energy industry.
The Role: Graduate GIS Role - Geographical Information Systems Project Officer Job Type: Part-time, Temporary Contract (3 days per week, from June – December 2016) Salary: Competitive salary, Start Date: June 2016 Location: Belfast Closing Date: 30th April 2016 Key Responsibilities The GIS Project Officer will provide an essential service to our wind analysis, planning and business development teams working on numerous projects throughout Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland. Duties will include: Undertaking detailed land folio searches; Preparing professional plans / drawings for inclusion in legal documents; Interpreting source documents such as civil engineering drawings to prepare detailed layouts; Follow existing procedural documents; Edit, digitise, and update records and other data layers (graphic and attributes); Database maintenance; Environmental data analysis; Undertake detailed site scoping / assessment exercises; and Generating other plans/renderings that aide business functions. Education and Experience Requirements A primary / postgraduate GIS degree or a degree in a relative discipline (e.g. Geography, Planning, Surveying or Engineering); Experienced and proficient in ESRI ArcGIS v10.3, MS Excel and MS Access. Skills Requirements: Ability to multi‐task, manage workload effectively and work to dynamic and changing priorities; Must be independent and capable of taking ownership of allocated tasks; Willing to attend sites visits i.e. to GPS locate existing features; Have an interest in the renewable energy industry. A clean driving license, access to their own transport and willingness to travel.
