We are looking to recruit a GIS Technician into our Stirling office. You will work across the full project lifecycle in onshore, offshore and wave/tidal using a variety of datasets for example: ecological, landscape, archaeological, infrastructure, aviation, wind speed, hydrospatial, Ordnance Survey and international base maps. The Role Working as part of the central GIS team, this job involves the provision of GIS and possibly CAD services to project managers within Natural Power. You will be responsible for the creation of spatial data and the preparation of GIS mapping and CAD diagrams, as well as ensuring all QA standards and procedures are met. A full job profile is available on request, however a selection of duties and responsibilities include: • Manage the flow of tasks into the GIS task list, understanding requirements and estimating effort as required • Work closely with project managers to plan the delivery of reports with large cartographic content • Perform analysis and manipulation of spatial data to generate new datasets • Work closely with project managers to agree scope of work and help inform their cartographic requirements • Ensure all output (GIS, CAD, Visualisations) conforms to the agreed QA standard • Update metadata records with appropriate information whenever data is created or altered Qualifications and Experience You should be able to demonstrate that you are an experienced user of Desktop GIS software such as ArcGIS or QGIS. Knowledge of ArcGIS Spatial Analyst would be beneficial although not essential as on the job training will be provided. Any exposure or experience of the renewable energy industry or working with environmental data would be beneficial but not essential.
