To continue our growth journey, we are looking for a passionate and committed Marine Science or Oceanography Graduate to join the team. We recently relocated our HQ to custom designed, modern offices and workshops in the beautiful Port Solent Marina, Portsmouth. You will be based in Port Solent, with occasional travel in the UK and internationally. The Role You will be based within a team that supports our customers and collaborators across the marine science technology user communities by providing technical, commercial and application advice about the technologies we provide for scientific data gathering. Confidence, credibility and impeccable communication skills are essential for this role, as you will be dealing directly with marine science, oceanography and marine conservation end users. You will receive comprehensive training, then you will be expected to maintain high levels of technical competence in meteorological / ocean data gathering, oceanography, underwater noise, marine robotics and other subsea engineered technologies. Qualifications Essential: · Experience managing and delivering GIS projects for internal and external clients · Expert user of ArcGIS desktop software and extensions; · Advanced data management skills to facilitate Spatial Data Infrastructures for complex projects and multi-platform delivery; · Experience in ArcGIS Online and/or Portal for ArcGIS to publish and manage data; · Exposure to enterprise GIS technologies; · Excellent communication and teamwork skills; · A problem solver with good degree (2:1 minimum) qualification in a relevant discipline; · Exemplary focus, ambition and attention to detail; · Advanced numeracy, analytical and computer skills for data manipulation and management (MS Excel and Access); · Ability and flexibility to function as part of multi-disciplinary teams located across a number of offices is essential. Desirable: · Experienced in the management of mobile data capture software such as ArcGIS Collector; · Use of other desktop GIS software (e.g. MapInfo, QGIS, GRASS, Quantum); · Programming languages and software development (Javascript, Python, .NET); · Experience of GIS application to engineering / utilities sectors.
