Company details: CAAS is one of Ireland’s longest established providers of planning and environmental advice to public sector bodies and planning authorities. We help local authorities and state agencies to protect and enhance rural and urban amenities and providing advice to help conserve the natural and cultural environment. As additional needs have emerged, we have expanded our skills in key areas such as Landscape Character Assessment, Strategic Environmental Assessment, Appropriate Assessment and Flood Planning. We provide environmental and strategic planning services to the private sector and utility companies through our subsidiaries Environmental Impact Services and AOS Planning. We have a diverse range of projects, often requiring innovative thinking to best serve client needs while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and guidelines. Job Description: Involvement with a small team to work as ecological lead on EIAs, SEAs and Habitats Directive assessments and compliance. Assessment work will include working within multi-disciplinary teams to solve problems and devise suitable mitigation and monitoring proposals. Work will involve some fieldwork and possible EcOW duties. Familiarity with EIA, SEA and Habitats Directive requirements is essential. Excellent report writing and presentational abilities are also essential. GIS / mapping capabilities preferred. ECoW experience and/or qualification preferred. Full clean driving licence preferred.
