Graduate Geo-Environmental Engineer: Graduate opportunity for someone who has a strong interest in soils, rocks, mapping and engineering (not afraid to get hands dirty). The position in question will require someone with great interpersonal skills and the ability to work under stressful conditions. Full training will be provided to the right candidate so no experience required, however it would be beneficial to have some environmental, construction or mapping experience. This job will require someone who is physically fit i.e. to assist and oversee the operation of drilling equipment in all weather conditions. The position will include travel throughout the UK/Ireland with occasional nights away, therefore a full driving license will be required. Our main office is located between Portrush and Ballymoney, County Antrim. Job Description: • Undertaking site reconnaissance visits and writing desk studies; • Undertaking geo-environmental intrusive investigations including supervising drilling rigs, logging ground conditions i.e. soils and rock samples etc; • Undertaking groundwater and gas monitoring programmes; • Organising ground investigations along with procuring subcontractor and laboratory services; • Logging of soils and rocks to BS5930, BS 14688, BS14689 and BS22476; • Preparing safety documentation including risk assessments, method statements and H&S Plans; • Management of field and laboratory data; • Preparing desk top study reports (factual and interpretative reports); • General geo-environmental consultancy support to projects; • Producing maps and relevant supporting information for site investigations.
