1. Introduction
Outdoor Recreation NI is a not-for-profit organisation whose role is to develop, manage and promote outdoor recreation across Northern Ireland. This is achieved through working in partnership with a wide range or organisations which have an interest in, or involvement with, outdoor recreation. Outdoor Recreation NI is responsiblefor the implementation of a number of practical outdoor recreation projects and is now seeking a suitably qualified person to deliver the following service: - To manage and maintain Outdoor Recreation NI’s in-house GIS system and provide day-to- day GIS and mapping support to both the Projects Team and the Marketing Team, for specific development and marketing projects. Outdoor Recreation NI currently use ArcGIS v10.6. 2. Key tasks The key tasks associated with this contract will include (but not be limited to) – o Completion of GIS-related tasks and projects o Ensure quarterly supplied data from Ordnance Survey NI (OSNI) is up-to-date o Manage Outdoor Recreation NI’s Spatial NI account and ensure all publicly available data is accessible from Outdoor Recreation NI’s desktop system o Review and ensure that all publicly owned land data that is available is held by Outdoor Recreation NI and up-to-date, e.g. NI Forests 3. Contract details: o The contract period is 52 weeks from Monday 19th August 2019 – Friday 14th August 2020 o The agreed rate for the services provided will be £75 per day or £10 per hour. o You will be responsible for all associated matters such as Income tax and National insurance as you are deemed ‘self-employed’. o You will receive payment only for those hours worked. o You will be expected to provide a service 5 days per week (7.5hrs per day) o The Contractor will be based at Outdoor Recreation NI headquarters and will have access Monday - Fridays 8am – 6pm (except public and bank holidays). o You will be entitled to take during the contract period, a maximum of 25 days annual leave. This is unpaid. o You will not be entitled to holiday pay or sick pay. 4. Contract Specification The successful applicant will have: Essential Criteria: - Competent user of the ESRI ArcGIS 10.6 package. i. Consistently accurate digitising experience. ii. Feature class attribute information input and management. iii. Creating and managing file geodatabases. iv. Metadata maintenance. The ability to work to deadlines, strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and within a small team. Knowledge and awareness of importing and manipulating GPS data. Desirable Criteria: - Familiar with ArcGIS Pro software Familiar with ArcGIS Collector software Familiar with the land registry search process Knowledge and experience of Adobe programmes such as Illustrator and/or Photoshop 5.
