October 2020 - September 2021 www.chester.ac.uk/pg/floodrisk Details: The Department of Geography and International Development at the University of Chester is offering a new Masters programme in Flood Risk Assessment, Modelling and Engineering (FRAME). The FRAME Masters programme is designed to enable participants to stay in employment whilst pursuing postgraduate study through a delivery model that involves a combination of classroom-based activities, fieldwork (virtual, local and international), online delivery and engagement with flood practitioners. The programme utilises the latest innovative technologies, including VR/AR, drone mapping and virtual fieldwork. Key modules focus on flood modelling and GIS, urban drainage design and engineering, natural flood management and sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), resilience and adaptation and risk communication. The course has been co-designed with flood risk practitioners and offers a flexible, applied approach to acquiring a postgraduate qualification. The use of the latest flood mapping techniques, modelling, laboratory sessions and fieldwork engagement enable the development of practical and applied skills in the field of flood risk management.
