This role will provide an excellent opportunity to gain experience of all aspects of teaching and assessment including lecturing, field work, assessment design and marking. This is an exciting chance to be part of a collegiate team of academics that achieved >95% student satisfaction in the most recent National Student Survey. You will assist the Marine Science team teaching the BSc Ocean Exploration and Surveying, BSc Oceanography and Coastal Processes and BSc Ocean Science and Marine Conservation. The Marine Sciences undergraduate scheme has around 90-100 students per year and we need support for all three years. This will include giving lectures in your area of expertise, leading field and laboratory practical work, advising on final year dissertations, assessment and general teaching management. We are particularly keen to find an individual with generic mapping (e.g. Arc GIS) and data processing and analysis skills (e.g. SonarWiz) and field experience. You may be asked to fulfil other relevant duties in the school as and when required. * You will have a BSc and further degree relevant to marine sciences and specifically to ocean exploration * You will have excellent computing skills and an ability to manage and interpret large marine datasets * Ideally you will have experience of working in the field/on boats collecting marine data * You may also have experience of working with students through either lecturing or demonstrating Please demonstrate how you meet the essential criteria outlined in the knowledge, qualifications, training and experience elements of the job description in your supporting statement.
